Eden memorials was founded in 2011 by local monumental sculptor Shaun Wardingham. After gaining a diploma in design and lettering, Shaun served his apprenticeship with J.F. Everrett and Co memorial masons based in south shields, qualifying as a monumental letter cutter in 1988. He went on to work for various companies as well as carrying out commissions for local authorities and private companies, including a local commission to hand carve the floor lettering in the Bede's World museum, Jarrow.
Whilst keeping the traditional skills of the memorial trade, we are constantly moving forward and embracing new skills and technology available to help us produce memorials that are both contemporary and unique.
We have built a small team of friendly staff who all share the same care and passion for what we do. From the first contact with our office to the fitting of our memorials in the cemetery, we always strive to give the help, care and respect which we believe you and your loved ones deserve.
“From back when I started in this trade, one thing I have always believed, and we all share, is that every single memorial we work on, no matter the size or cost, will have the same level of care, attention and craftsmanship applied as if it was being produced for one of our own family” - Shaun Wardingham
